Complacency

Is it ever going to change?
Day to day,
It’s all just the same.
Waking light to sleeping night,
Moving around without a fight.
Moment to moment,
Like a dream,
Reality becomes complacency.
Colors disappear, emotions fade,
And all that’s left is the day to day.
Living like a robot,
Present yet disconnected.
Is this really how it is supposed to be?

What ever happened,
To the me who was free,
Of the burdens I now feel?
I once knew Joy,
That could not be contained,
Yet now it seems like a dream,
To good to be true.
